MOTORBIKE FRIENDLY AND CYCLE FRIENDLY B&B

The owners of St John's Lodge Guest House in Windermere have built a dedicated secure outdoor parking area for motor bikes and cycles. Bikes are parked well out of sight of the public behind a seven foot wall complete with lockable gates. Bikes and cycles can also be chained (own chain required) to secure metal poles fixed to the ground.

Barry Watts, the owner of St John's Lodge said "We welcome responsible bikers but customers should note that we restrict access to the building after 12.30 at night.  If that doesn't fit in with customers social requirements then we are not really for them".

Gabriel Uttley, news editor of Fast Facts magazine, and rider of the Angelic Bulldog Streamliner motorcycle and Land Speed Record Project, said "This is a great facility for motorcyclists.  Barry and Sue offer great value for money accommodation and their new secure bike park is exactly what we bikers need!  How refreshing it is to encounter motorcycle friendly hosts who try to ensure the security of our machines".

Richard Haywood, a keen mountain bike rider said, "I found It very reassuring being able to secure my bike safely and away from prying eyes and hands.  The healthy sports option breakfasts also set me up for a hard days ride".
St John's Lodge in Windermere is an ideal base for touring the whole of the Lake District.  It is also a good base for all forms of cycling.  In fact an increasing number of cyclists on the Lands End to John o'Groats run are now making St John's Lodge Hotel a stopping off point because of the secure motorbike and cycle friendly parking.
